Integration scenarios

Subtitles burned into a ready MP4

The agent uploads the video from a public link, runs it through ZapCap transcription and returns an MP4 with the subtitles already burned in.

One style across the whole batch

The agent shows the available subtitle style templates and applies the one you pick to every video in the batch instead of one at a time.

Translated subtitles for another market

The agent detects the source language of the video and builds a version with subtitles in the language you need, without rebuilding the video by hand.

Cutting a long video into clips

The agent queues a clip job: up to five short clips from a single video within the duration range you choose.

How to connect

1

Sign in to your ZapCap account

Sign up or log in at zapcap.ai and open the workspace at platform.zapcap.ai — the key is issued there, not from the video editor.

2

Upgrade to Pro or higher

On the «Pricing» page pick Pro ($16/mo) or Agency+ ($32/mo): API access exists only there. Free and Starter plans cannot issue a key at all.

3

Buy render credits in the dashboard

Render credits are sold separately from the subscription and bought in the dashboard — from $0.10 per minute of rendered video. Without credits the key works but render tasks are rejected.

4

Create the key on the API Key page

Open platform.zapcap.ai/dashboard/api-key, create a key and copy the whole value. This is the key ZapCap expects in the x-api-key header.

What the agent does in the first 10 minutes

  • Turns your video into a ready MP4 with burned-in subtitles — transcription, line breaking and rendering all happen on ZapCap's side.
  • Lists the available caption style templates and applies the chosen one across a whole batch of clips, not one by one.
  • On a schedule, runs new clips through captioning and translation and sends links to the finished files once rendering completes.

FAQ

How do I connect ZapCap?

With an API key: open platform.zapcap.ai/dashboard/api-key, create a key and copy it in full. The page issues a key only on the Pro or Agency+ plan, on Free and Starter it is unavailable.

What does the agent see in ZapCap?

Subtitle style templates, uploaded videos and task statuses, transcription, render and clip jobs, along with the link to the finished file once the render completes.

Does the agent write to ZapCap?

Yes: it uploads videos, creates subtitle and clip tasks and approves the transcript before rendering. The agent picks up finished files from the link in the response.

What do I need besides a plan?

Render credits: they are bought separately from the subscription, starting at $0.10 per minute of finished video. Without credits the key still works, but render tasks are rejected.
