Break down YouTube channel and video stats right in chat

Connect YouTube to the AI agent: channel, videos, playlists, comments and captions. The agent reports channel stats and drafts replies to fresh comments.

How the agent works with YouTube

The agent works with the YouTube Data API v3: it reads your channel with its view, subscriber and video counts, the metadata and metrics of individual videos, playlists, comment threads, subscriptions, captions and video categories by region. From that data it puts together the channel dynamics for a period and shows which videos are pulling it up, while the caption list is downloaded as SRT so what was said can be broken down without watching the whole thing.

The subtlety with YouTube is that a Google account and a channel are not the same thing, and how much is available is decided by the role in YouTube Studio rather than by the fact of signing in. The Manager role covers everything except deleting the channel, while the Viewer role leaves read-only access — and the agent runs into that honestly at the first write. Since summer 2026 the Data API quota is split into separate daily baskets: search has its own hundred calls a day, video uploads have theirs, and everything else shares one daily allowance. That is why the agent collects a channel's videos from its uploads list rather than by searching — it leaves the search basket untouched.

As writes the agent creates playlists and adds videos to them, publishes top-level replies in comments, likes videos and subscribes to channels. Comments are sorted through first: real questions are separated from spam and the agent shows who it intends to answer — a reply goes out from your channel and is publicly visible, so that step stays with you. The agent does not delete what has been published and does not clean up other people threads.

The access token lives for about an hour and is refreshed automatically, so nothing has to be reconnected by hand. Statistics in the Data API arrive aggregated per channel and per video: there is no minute-level analytics and no traffic sources here, those need the separate reporting API. If a section is closed by your role on the channel or access has been revoked, the agent says so directly instead of showing an empty table.

Integration scenarios

Channel and video statistics

The agent collects views, subscribers and video count, goes through video metadata and stats and shows what is pulling the channel up.

Comments and replies

The agent reads fresh comment threads under a video, separates real questions from spam and publishes top-level replies.

Playlists and subscriptions

The agent creates a playlist, adds the videos you want to it and subscribes to the channel you decided to follow.

Captions and video breakdown

The agent takes the caption list for a video, downloads the SRT file and breaks down what was said without watching the whole thing.

A look at a neighbouring channel

The agent collects the public videos of a channel you follow with their views and publish dates and shows how often they post and what lands best.

Weekly channel digest

The agent takes channel and video statistics once a week, compares them with the previous week and sends over what grew in views and what slipped.

How to connect

Before you connect

  • A channel already created — an account without one cannot connect
  • The channel owner reachable: only they can assign roles
  • Connection is a Google sign-in — no keys or tokens to type in
  1. 1

Check channels in Add or manage channels

Check your channel list: profile on youtube.com → "Settings" → "Account" → "Add or manage channel(s)". An account with no channel can only watch and subscribe.

  2. 2

    Open Permissions in YouTube Studio

Open studio.youtube.com → "Settings" → "Permissions". Only the owner and managers see the list: if it will not open, your role is not enough.

  3. 3

    Click Move Permissions

If the channel is still managed through a Brand Account, click "Move Permissions" in "Permissions". The owner then assigns each user a role manually.

  4. 4

Invite the email with the Manager role

"Permissions" → "Invite" → the Google Account email → role. "Manager" covers everything but deleting the channel; "Viewer" leaves read-only access.

FAQ
