Microsoft Teams

Answer in Microsoft Teams as your own bot

Connect Microsoft Teams to the AI agent through an Azure Bot: chats and channels. The agent answers as your bot and posts scheduled task reports to a channel.

Integration scenarios

Replies in chats and channels

The agent receives a message from a personal chat, a group chat or a Teams channel where the bot was mentioned and answers in the same thread as your bot.

Buttons and approvals

The agent asks a question or an approval with a card of buttons and updates the card once the decision is made.

Task reports in a channel

The agent posts a scheduled task's result into the team channel the bot was added to, without reminders.

How to connect

Before you connect

  • An Azure subscription and admin rights in the Microsoft 365 tenant
  • An Azure Bot resource of type Single Tenant with the Microsoft Teams channel on
  • The right to upload apps in the Teams admin center
  1. 1

Create an Azure Bot in your tenant

In the Azure portal create an Azure Bot resource: type «Single Tenant», a new Microsoft app. Microsoft stopped creating multi-tenant bots on 31.07.2025.

  2. 2

Turn on the Microsoft Teams channel

In the bot resource open «Channels» and add Microsoft Teams. Without the channel Teams delivers the bot no messages at all.

  3. 3

Copy the tenant, app id and secret

Take the App ID and App Tenant ID from the bot's «Configuration». Under «Manage password» create a client secret and copy its Value now: Azure hides it later.

  4. 4

Paste the address and install the app

Paste the address from the connection card into the bot's «Messaging endpoint» and upload the card's app package in the Teams admin center.

FAQ

In the Azure portal create an Azure Bot resource of type Single Tenant and turn on its Microsoft Teams channel. Paste the App Tenant ID, the App ID and the client secret when connecting, then put the address from the connection card into the bot's «Messaging endpoint» and upload the app package in the Teams admin center.

Microsoft stopped creating multi-tenant bots on 31.07.2025. The bot lives in your Microsoft 365 tenant and works with your organization.

In a personal chat with the bot, in group chats and in team channels the bot was added to. In a channel the agent receives a message when the bot is mentioned and answers in the same thread as your bot.

Yes: a question or an approval request arrives as a card with buttons, and once the decision is made the agent updates that same card.

Check that the Microsoft Teams channel is on in the bot resource and that the «Messaging endpoint» holds the address from the connection card: without the channel Teams delivers the bot no messages at all.
