## How to connect

### Sign in to the VK Ads cabinet at ads.vk.ru
This is the new ad cabinet and it has its own API on ads.vk.ru. The legacy VKontakte cabinet with ads.* methods on api.vk.com is a different system: a token from there will not work here. Use an account that already has access to the cabinet you need.

### Open “Settings” → “API access”
In the cabinet settings find “API access” and fill in the details of the employee the access is issued to. This is a request inside the cabinet — no support email and no VK ID app required.

### Copy the client_id
Once access is granted the client_id is shown in the same section and stays available — you can copy it at any time.

### Generate the client_secret and copy it at once
Press the generate button: the secret is revealed for 10 minutes only and is never shown again — miss the window and you have to reissue it. We obtain and refresh the access token ourselves, so there is nothing to paste by hand.

## FAQ

### How do I connect VK Ads?
With a client_id and client_secret pair: in the account at ads.vk.ru open Settings, then API access, and request access. The client_secret is shown only behind a button and only for 10 minutes, so copy it right away. The service obtains and refreshes the access token itself.

### What does the agent see in VK Ads?
The account campaigns, ad groups and ads, their settings and statistics on impressions, clicks and spend — within the permissions of the account whose keys are connected.

### Will a token from the old VKontakte ad account work?
No. The old ad account on api.vk.com is a different API with different methods, and its token does not work here. You need keys from the VK Ads account at ads.vk.ru.

### Does the agent change campaigns?
By default VK Ads is used read-only: the agent collects and analyses statistics without touching campaign settings, bids or budgets.
